This year’s prestigious Science and Sustainability Award has been awarded to Dr. Mohamed Rishard Mohamed Riyal, an accomplished medical professional and a proud graduate of the University of Dundee.
With a medical degree (MD) and a membership from the Royal College, Dr. Riyal has made significant contributions in both clinical practice and medical education. Demonstrating his passion for knowledge-sharing and community upliftment, he launched a free online training program that gained national recognition and earned him a distinguished prize.
In addition to his academic and educational efforts, Dr. Riyal is also an innovator in the medical field. One of his most notable achievements is the development of the ‘Curved Cervix Holding Forceps’, a groundbreaking instrument designed to help reduce the risk of preterm births. His work continues to impact maternal health positively and reflects his deep commitment to science, sustainability, and human well-being.
